Does anyone know of any alternative treatments for pediatric glioblastoma multiforme (GBM)? Anything will be appreciated. Thank you.

Having a child with a brain tumour is obviously devastating, and I understand your desperation.
But you need to bear in mind that in this context ‘alternative’ is just another way of saying ‘unproven’. It’s been said many, many times before but – if a treatment had been tested and proven to be effective, it would no longer be ‘alternative medicine’, it would simply be ‘medicine’.
And while many things claimed as ‘alternative cancer treatments’ are harmless, some – including some that are regularly recommended in this section – can be dangerous as well as ineffective. And all the more dangerous, obviously, if given to a child.
So I’d urge you first to listen to what the patient’s doctors are recommending, and second to do a search on this site for some facts if you are tempted by any particular ‘alternative’, before investing hope, money and – most dangerous of all for a cancer patient – time in ineffective and dangerous ‘treatments’:

Please keep in mind that wherever there’s cancer there’s a ruhless charlatan (or several) eager to part desperate and vulnerable people from their cash in exchange for useless treatments.
There are also well-meaning but ill-informed people who will assure you of the effectiveness of their pet ‘cure’ – they have no personal experience or professional knowledge of cancer, and have never actually seen these ‘cures’ work in real life, but have read about them on the internet and want so much for them to be true hat they swallo the most improbable things whole.
There is a ‘Best Answerer’ on this board who claims to be a homeopath, who has many times assured people in this section and the Cancer section that yes, homeopathy can cure cancer. Another of this board’s regulars who describes himself as a ‘naturopathic doctor’ has stated in the YA Cancer section that ‘Herbal and Mineral Science, Reiki, TCM, Ayurveda, Yoga, Ozone’ have more success with cancer than conventional treatments, including surgery, and that cancer can be cured by ‘mind over matter’.
And in the well-meaning corner there are those who will tell you that any cancer can be cured by diet, or that useless teas or dangerous apricot kernels/laetrile (they contain cyanide) will surely cure cancer.

Yes, i know this aggressive type of cancer has a poor prognosis with surgery, chemo and radiation. I can give you a few links to look through that may help. I will also mention that cyanide is in most fruits that have a pit, or core, like cherries, apricots, and apples. Other foods containing cyanide are almonds, millet sprouts, lima beans, soy, spinach, bamboo shoots, cassava. No foods are consumed in large enough quantities to be toxic. The dangerous cyanides are cyanide gas and cyanide salts.

I saw a show last night on Veria TV (channel 162 on Verizon FIOS Brooklyn). A lad got cured (but not the same cancer) using two alternative remedies. Essiac Tea and something called 714X.
